Installer screwing decking boards onto the substructure

Installations

The substructure decides how long the surface lasts.

The air cavity between the base and the boards drains the water, reduces trapped moisture, allows the material to expand and extends the life of the system. It isn't a detail: it is the system.

Tropical hardwood

We recommend tropical hardwood battens of the same density or higher: that is what guarantees a solid base and keeps the decking stable over time.

Hidden clips

The clips slot into the side groove of the board and screw to the joist: a firm, even hold with not one screw showing on the surface.

Before you start

The surface

  • The base must be firm, stable and perfectly level.
  • Joists every 300-350 mm, fixed with screws every 500 mm.
  • 15 mm minimum between the structure and any wall or fixed obstacle, for expansion.
  • Ventilation under the decking to avoid moisture building up.
  • A slight slope towards the outside to drain the water.

The material

  • Only with the recommended clips and screws, with no visible fasteners.
  • Pre-drill before screwing so as not to damage the material.
  • The clip keeps the gap between boards automatically even.
  • The ends of every board always rest on a joist.

Composite WPC · Cladding

Invisible screw

For outdoors and indoors. The screw stays hidden by the overlap between panels or behind the finishing profiles, so the result is a continuous, clean wall, hard-wearing and low-maintenance.

Before you start

The surface

  • The wall must be firm, flat and level before the substructure goes up.
  • A joist substructure is compulsory : never the panel straight onto the wall.
  • Joists with a spacing of 500 mm maximum.
  • In a horizontal installation, screws roughly every 400 mm.
  • Ventilation between the wall and the cladding, to avoid damp.

The material

  • Screws hidden through the overlap between panels or behind a finishing profile.
  • Pre-drill before screwing so as not to damage the composite.
  • The corner and finishing profiles are compulsory: they protect the edges.
  • Cut and fit the panels to the real measurements before assembly.

Hidden fastening clips

The clip goes into the side groove of each board and screws to the joist, with not a single hole in sight. An even gap, ventilation between pieces and protection against damp and splitting.

Before you start

The surface

  • A firm, level base and a slope for drainage.
  • Joists with a maximum spacing of 500 mm — 465 mm recommended for 1860 mm boards.
  • Substructure at 80 mm minimum off the ground, never in contact with damp surfaces.
  • Perimeter expansion joints against any wall or fixed obstacle.
  • Continuous ventilation under the floor.
  • Minimum slope of 6 mm per metre to drain the water.

The material

  • Only with hidden fastening clips and stainless steel screws A2 or A4.
  • Pre-drill at the end fastenings to avoid splitting or internal stresses.
  • The clip guarantees the even gap and the natural movement of the bamboo.
  • The ends of every board always rest always on a joist.

What the system includes

Hidden fastening clipsThey join board and joist without touching the face.
Start and end clipsTo fix the first and the last board.
Specific screwsA firm, lasting hold outdoors.

What it gives you

  • Invisible fixing

  • Better ventilation
  • Longer life outdoors

The steps

  1. Step 1: joist

Ventilated façade

For ventilated façades, enclosures and sheltered external walls. The clip fixes the board to the joist without piercing the face, and the air cavity does the rest.

Before you start

The surface

  • A firm wall, with nothing loose and reasonably flat.
  • Compulsory a ventilated substructure — aluminium or treated timber — with an air cavity of 20-30 mm.
  • Spacing between joists of 620 mm.
  • The joists must end up perfectly coplanar.
  • 50 mm minimum above the finished floor, to avoid contact with damp.
  • Ventilation behind the cladding, to carry the moisture away.

The material

  • Only with the hidden fastening clipsystem: no piercing the face.
  • Pre-drilling is compulsory: it prevents splitting and delamination from the screw tip.
  • Gap between boards of 3-5 mm for the natural expansion of the bamboo.
  • Cut and fit the panels to the real measurements, for clean corners and junctions.
